The Airbus A-380 will be the largest Commercial plane in operation in the world. The first air trials will be held in 2005 and Commercialization in 2006.Cost of this “Plaything»: between 220 and 240 million EUROS. Géant des airs du futur… 73m de long, 79,80 m d'envergure, 24,10 m de hauteur, 20 roues, jusqu'à 656 places passagers... L'airbus A380 sera le plus gros avion commercial en circulation au monde. Les premiers essais en vol auront lieu en 2005, et la commercialisation dès 2006. Coût du "joujou" : entre 220 et 240 millions d'euros.

  3. Non Stop Due to air flight capacities of 15000 km’s, the A-380 will Certainly be able to fly non-stop to Asia or South America for example. It consumes 3 litres of Fuel per passenger per 100 km. (this is in comperison to its biggest competitor “Boeing 747-400” which is 3.4 litres.)

  4. Downtime between flights Airline companies will use the Airbus A-380 on heavy traffic routes. Downtime between flights is about 1 1/2 hours. This includes cleaning, maintenance and fuel. Filling the reservoirs holding 130,000 litres of kerosene takes only 40 minutes.

  5. Take off The weight of the A-380 and its “Jumbo” dimensions cause problems for airports. In certain cases, runways will have to be widened, reinforced and even enlarging the waiting rooms in function of the number of passengers.

  6. At the controls The cockpit, which is between the two decks of the plane, is similar to the A-340. Pilots have at their disposal 8 large screens for control and navigation, which are already in use on many Airbuses

  7. Grand staircases As the plane is equipped with two decks, several staircases are foreseen for circulation of the passengers and flight personnel. The lower deck will be able to accommodate 10 rows of seats while the upper deck will have 8.

  8. Bar and restaurant Because of the size of the aircraft, Airline Companies can envision amenities resembling those of cruise ships. Here is a mock model suggestion for a Bar-Restaurant.

  9. “Duty Free” in flight The stylists of Airbus have imagined equipment out of the ordinary for a plane such as a “Duty Free” boutique where people could purchase in flight.

  10. VIP Salons Speaking with logic: Do not expect to see equipment such as illustrated here in “economy class” or on Charters…. The goal here is to maximize the possibilities for those flying “business class”. These people pay up to 10 times more for their ticket.

  11. Seat bed Another option for (very) high-class passengers is the passenger seat, which converts into a bed with video availabilities, dimmer lights and comfortable blankets.
