The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is one of Australia’s largest and most diverse employers. • With over 280 different positions to choose from, the ADF covers almost every employment category. • We have several avenues of entry: • Non trade • Trade • Officer and Management • Reserves (Part Time)

  3. Officers & Management Combat and Security Aviation Health Care & Science Engineering Business & Administration Trades & Apprenticeships Logistics, Hospitality & Support Communications, IT & Education

  4. Our entry level jobs are called General Entry. These are non-trade based positions. These positions are available to candidates with education from year 9 – year 12. Generally, Maths and English are the main subjects required.

  6. Technical Trade based Apprenticeships. Education requirements for these positions is a min of Year 10 schooling with passes in English, Maths and Science (preferably Physics). We cover most trade based positions. Some examples are: Vehicle Mechanics Aircraft MechanicsMarine Mechanics Structural FittingElectronics Fitting/Metal TradesCommunications PlumbingElectrical CarpentryCooking

OFFICER ENTRY • Our management avenue of entry covers 4 avenues: • Direct Entry Officer • Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) • Defence Sponsored Undergraduate • Graduate • Depending on the avenue of entry, the minimum education requirement for Officer Entry is Year 12 with passes in Maths and English. • ADFA candidates must achieve a TER of 70 to be accepted but can apply during year 11.
