NEW DFR initiatives • Reduced information capture(streamlined application process) • Better use of IT(email/SMS/Web links/DVD’s, Powerforce) • Better customer service • Deployable Recruiting Team(Testing outside DFRC 40 weeks of the year) • All “face to face” contact up to the Assessment Session is with an ADF member(greeted, counselled & farewelled by an ADF member) • Shortened Recruiting Process(2/6/8 weeks) • Brigade Reserve Recruiting Coordinators

NEW DFR initiatives – cont... • Candidate Relationship Management Centre (CRMC) • Candidate-centric process • Criminal History Checks (automatic data feed in and outbound) • Letter of Intent Pack (key link to single service) • E-dossier (no paper – environment, ease for transferring DFRC’s) • “Clean” Candidate Management Database • Specialist Recruitment Cells • JOR (Job Opportunities Report)

YOU session • 4 hours (previously up to 7 hours) • Renovated “RV” rooms (comfortable & attractive to Gen Y) • Executive Rooms (“Qantas Club” look & feel) • Job Opportunity Report (full visibility of Tri-Service FT & PT options) • Interaction in the “RV” rooms with ADF staff (new lifestyle DVD playing on PLASMA’s, individual experiences/images on projector) • Free consumables (Coffee machine, soft drinks, snacks) • YOU pack – Application pack, medical history questionnaire, next steps • The “DFR EXPERIENCE”

Assessment session • 4 - 5 hours (previously 7 hours) • Renovated “RV” rooms (comfortable & attract to Gen Y) • Executive Rooms (“Qantas Club” look & feel) • Streamlined Psych v Defence Interviewer interviews • Interaction in the “RV” rooms with ADF staff (internet access, X box) • Roadmap to success(if unsuccessful) • The “DFR EXPERIENCE”

Success Areas • Increased testing capability • YOU Sessions: AM, PM, night, Saturday • Assessment Session attendance - 97% v 76% (CY 2006) • Increase Recommend rate – 75% v 86%(CY2006) • DRT – Tested 380 candidates • CPT – better response from, and networking at, CPT activities • Wireless system access – respond to enquiries “on the spot” • Less touch points

  7. Areas for improvement and focus • CRMC – up-skilling the knowledge of a civilian workforce • Fill rates – currently 63% • YOU Attendance – 83% • One Day Model – take up (currently 10% of a reduced capacity) • Job clustering • Tri-service all avenues focus – Winning for the ADF • Flexible work force – accepting transition between PT and FT service
