  2. The Desert Deserts cover about one fifth of the earth’s land area. The desert is a harsh environment with very little rainfall and extreme temperatures.

  3. What makes a Desert? A desert is defined as a region that gets less than ten inches of precipitation per year.

  4. This is a coyote In Native Americans stories coyotes are clever and tricky.

  5. This is a gila monster Gila monsters are one of only two species of the venomous lizards.

  6. This is a Rattlesnake Rattlesnakes come in 16 distinct varieties.Rattlesnakes are carnivorous.

  7. This is a horned lizard Horned lizards are odd looking reptiles.There are 13 different species of horned lizards.

  8. This is a Caracal The Caracal ca be found in dry scrb,dry woodlands and semi deserts of Africa and western Asia.

  9. This is a fennec fox • A Fennec Fox will dig a burrow underground and typically sleep there during the day when it is hottest.

  10. This is a jerboa When on the move, jerboas are like mini kangaroos.

  11. This is a llama People think llamas have two humps on there back but they don’t.

  13. This is a bat A single brown bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes in a single hour.

  14. This is a Bobcat Bobcats are elusive and nocturnal, so the are rarely spotted by humans.

  15. This is a thorny devil. The grotesque thorny devil is the only species in its genus and one of the strangest animals.

  16. These are Desert plants and cactus.

  17. I learned that the deserts have less than ten inches of rain per year. I was surprised by how many plants there were.
