  1. Recommendation Revised Process for Nominating and Electing Library Trustees

  2. Recommend the Library Trustees consist of: • 9 members • 2 are appointed by the President of the Board of School Directors • The remaining 7 members are reviewed by the Board and Library Trustees and then nominated, elected, and voted for by the Board of School Directors

  3. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election • Library Trustees will serve a three year term • Terms End • July 2013 – 3 members • July 2014 – 2 members • July 2015 – 2 members

  4. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election • February of each year – Library Trustees identify the needs/skill sets sought in candidates for position • February and March – School Board and Library Board post for the open positions

  5. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election • April • 1st Friday – Applications for Library Trustee due • 2nd Monday – Library Trustees review all applications • April 30 or earlier – President of the Board of School Directors announces interview for Library Trustees

  6. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election • May • Library Trustees send resumes of all applicants along with their recommendation(s) to Board of School Directors for consideration • Board of School Directors holds a special public meeting with the Library Trustees to interview candidates

  7. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election • June • Board of School Directors nominates and elects Library Trustee(s) using process outlined in Policy 004.2 • July • New library trustees take seat

  8. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election for 2013 • June 2013 • Nomination process reviewed by Board of School Directors • President of the Board of School Directors announces interview for Library Trustees – Thursday, August 22 • July 2013 • Library Trustees determine needs/skills needed • Board of School Directors and Library Trustees advertise

  9. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election 2013 • August 2013 • Applications due Friday, August 2, 2013 • Applications reviewed by Library Trustees – Monday, August 12, 2013 • Board of Directors and Library Trustees interview candidates – Thursday, August 22, 2013

  10. Process for Review, Nomination, and Election 2013 • September 2013 • Board elects Library Trustees, following process outlined in Policy 004.2 at Board Workshop, Thursday, September 12, 2013 • October 2013 – new Library Trustees begin remainder of their term
