  1. NEES CCSC • Goal: To contribute and provide input for: • Quarterly evaluation from the PAC that Marc chairs. • Advice to staff, as requested. Ruth Pordes, Chair of the Community Collaboration Sub-Committee of the Project Advisory Committee

  2. We all agree Community collaboration is crucial for thesustainability and success of NEES.

  3. CCSC’s place/current charge This subcommittee will build synergy with related projects in all NEES components: user communities, sites, cyberinfrastructure, and EOT, and with efforts in communities that have similar needs. The CCSC staff contact will be the Deputy Director.

  4. Current membership Missing engagement frommembers from ESF… Thalia Anagnos (NEES EOT, Steering Group), Barbara Cooper (NEES EOT) – reports to us Jay Berger (User Forum), Scott Lathrop (Teragrid), John McGee (OSG, RENCI), Carol Song (U of Purdue IT), Lelli Van Den Einde (User Forum), Ann Zimmerman (NEES, requirements etc.)

  5. To date 2 phone meetings. Lively discussion about User Forum and Community Collaboration and how CCSC might help here. Lelli plans to follow up talking to the rest of the group. Listened to/discussed EOT activities, response of NSF visit. Lively discussion of some aspects of first report to PAC. Fostered direct contact with TeraGrid Education/Outreach/Training groups. People wondering how best to “add value”.

  6. Current plans: Questions/Comments welcome.. Next meeting early August. Dawn Weismann has agreed to come and report. Also talking with Shirley. Make direct contact with IT sub-committee of PAC for discussion. Revisit goals, scope, membership in time for some revamps at the face-to-face co-located with the NEES annual meeting/summit in October.
