Writing priorities for 8th ACLA • Increase expectations for specific evidence, logical reasoning, transitions, and precise language in informational and argumentative writing. • Conduct research projects to explore broader themes • Draw on evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research • Write routinely over extended and/or shorter time frames, depending on the purpose, task, and audience
Reading Priorities For 8th LA • Increase text support and analysis • Increase vocabulary • Increase rigor & diversity of text • Integrate cross-curricular readings
