Clinical Update Inpatient mortality declining (observed and O/E ratio) Inpatient redesign to be implemented on June 25, 2011 Clinic visits up just under 4% and wRVU’s up 7% YTD, discharges down Access for new patients to our outpatient practices starting to improve noticeably Case Mix Index starting to rise Reduction in Malpractice Premium by BMC Insurance Captive to have favorable effect on DOM budget BMC financial picture improving Reminder to check your wRVU totals on the DOM Dashboard OPPE needs to be completed by June 30, 2011

Education Update Intern Orientation starts Thursday 16, first day is Saturday, June 25, 2011 Chief’s Report Friday, June 17, 2011 Associate Program Directors appointed by Dr. Gopal Yadavalli • Sheilah Bernard, M.D. (Cardiology) • Catherine Rich, M.D. (GIM) • Craig Noronha, M.D. (GIM) Education and Research Coordinators appointed for each section Deadline for specialty fellowship match has been moved back several months

Research Update Retreat for Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research being held on September 20, 2011 at the Museum of Science Supplements from DOM for K awardees planned Tentatively planning to increase the Biostatistical Core Research space survey still being modified Working committees: • High Throughput Screening • Research Faculty designation • Phase I Clinical Trials
