  1. Grade 8 Socials Studies St. Georges Day Project

  2. The legend of Saint George is known to all of us. We all understand that he has slain the dragon. Our presentation here is our way of understanding and showing what we know of his life through our everyday objects such as clay, LEGO toys, paint, and others. The background was created to depict the battle scene between Saint George and the dragon. The mountain range and the valley were used to add to the scenery. Following what our sources tell, we made sure that the setting was next to a river. Overall, we used acrylic paint. The clay dragon was used as a way to represent the slaying of the dragon in the legend, and his size shows us as a way to imagine our troubles and concerns of our lives being bigger than we are. The LEGO was our way of mixing the creativity with information. The pieces showed are a castle- his the base. We expanded on it and created more figures. We tried to stick to the colour gray to symbolize wood. The information was made to make sure that even those who pass by can get quick, snappy knowledge on the spot and to prevent the need of putting too many words into our presentation.
