Denial- Politicians that choose to hide their past mistakes because they don’t want the world to know. (Herman Cain) • Displacement- Putting the blame on the object that you lost (like Nicole with her keys) • Projection- You feel guilty about cheating on a test, so you find ways to accuse others of your crime. • Rationalization- Telling yourself eating one more cookie won’t have any effect just so you don’t feel guilty Defense Mechanisms
