Lesson study, a professional development approach originating from Japan, aims to improve teacher instruction through collaborative practice. At Firgrove Elementary, we adopted this method in September, focusing on mathematics lessons that align with our curriculum. We engaged teachers in observing and reflecting on instructional practices to foster ongoing improvement. Through individual and group reflections, we aimed to create meaningful goals that would enhance student learning. This initiative has transformed our instructional approach and strengthened our teaching community.
