  1. Setting up a steering group Liz Staples Lead Nurse / Clinical Services Manager

  2. Pauline’s ideas • A steering group should be set up to develop services for adults with autism. • Membership should come from all services including children’s. • The group should not be led by learning disabilities.

  3. The steering group should write a strategy for Walsall based on the National Strategy. • They should build a database so that we know how many people with autism are coming into services. • An Autism Advice Service should be set up to help other services be accessible to adults with autism.

  4. A programme of training should meet the needs of existing services. • There also needs to be awareness training for the general public and other services. • Public services like the police and ambulance services should be invited to get involved.
