Primary Consumer • Primary consumers are strictly the HERBIVORES. They only eat plants (producer).
Secondary Consumer • Secondary consumers are carnivores because they eat the primary consumers, which are other animals.
IMPORTANT! • All consumers are also known as heterotrophic organisms because they do NOT produce their own food, as autotrophs (producers) do. • Autotrophs = PRODUCERS • Heterotrophs= HERBIVORES, OMNIVORES and CARNIVORES (ALL consumers)
