  2. http://www.madehow.com/Volume-2/Paper.html How is paper made Just look at a tree trunk. The bark protects the inner wood from weather, insects and other dangers. Just inside the bark is a thin layer called the cambium, whose cells become both bark and inner wood. Next is sapwood, which carries nourishing sap throughout the tree the same way our blood flows through our bodies to nourish us. Heartwood is the innermost part of the trunk, and even though it isn't alive, it provides the tree with strength and structure. http://www.google.co.nz/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=cartoon+trees&gbv=2&biw=1379&bih=680

  4. http://www.blurtit.com/q854267.html Who discovered paper? Where was paper first discovered? Paper was never ' discovered', as it is man-made using the wood from trees. The earliest form of paper ... Before man invented paper they had created a writing material about 4000 years ago. In the history of ancient Egypt, the peeled and flattened form of papyrus plant was used in place of paper. Paper was invented in China by a man called Ts'ai Lun at about the year 105. He found the path to make paper from the stringy inner bark of the mulberry tree. In that time paper was made of mulberry tree, after that Bamboo and old rags were also used as the raw material of paper. By the Chinese traders the art of making paper was spread over Russia, then Arab, Spain and after that the secret put on Europe and England. But till that time it was a handicraft creation, in the mean time improved methods and machines for making paper were discovered. In 1798 in France a machine was developed that could make a continuous sheet or web or piece of paper. In the history of mankind paper is the very and one of the most important weapon for civilization. Sudipa_sarkar

  5. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_is_paper_important_to_mankind Is paper important Paper is important to mankind for many different reasons, most importantly because it enabled written communications to be easily copied and stored (as opposed to stone and clay tablets). Until the computer age, paper books were the basic storehouse of man's knowledge. It also enabled references in everyday activities, from the ingredients on a cereal box to the blueprints for huge buildings. And what fun would it be to create an airplane out of sticks and stones?
