Exploring the Minoan and Mycenaean Civilizations: A Review on Ancient Greek Foundations

This review focuses on the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations, examining how they merged to form early Greek civilization through trade and war. Key aspects include Minoan maritime dominance, their unique sports like bull-leaping, and societal structures without city walls relying on naval power for protection. The Mycenaeans constructed fortress-palaces and are famed for the legendary Trojan War as depicted in the Iliad. The review culminates in understanding the transition from these civilizations to the new Greek era following the Dark Age influenced by the Dorians.
