The workshop held on February 7, 2008, led by Rosie Cameron, National ICP Coordinator, aimed to present the overview of Integrated Care Pathways (ICPs) for mental health conditions, including borderline personality disorder. Key topics included the National Standards for ICPs, local developments in Dumfries and Galloway and Ayrshire & Arran, and an open discussion for questions. The focus was on delivering mental health commitments through accredited pathways, highlighting continuous quality improvement and collaboration within NHS boards for better treatment strategies.

Delivering for Mental Health Commitment 6: • "NHS QIS will develop the standards for ICPs for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, dementia and personality disorder by the end of 2007. • NHS board areas will develop and implement ICPs and these will be accredited from 2008 onwards."
Additional Borderline Personality Disorder Standard • Standard 26: medication guidance • Criterion • The care record shows that a treatment algorithm for drug choices based on best practice is followed (for example as described in Tyrer & Bateman, 2004).
