Designing a Secure Package for Crackers: A 4-H Innovators Challenge

DESCRIPTION

Join the 4-H Innovators team as we tackle a unique packaging challenge! An Alabama cracker manufacturer needs our help to design a secure package that preserves crackers during transport and storage. The goal is to ensure that the crackers remain uncrushed, dry, and safe from bugs, while also being properly labeled. Additionally, the packaging must optimize shelf space in stores. This project encourages innovative engineering solutions while addressing essential food packaging principles.

  4. 4-Hinnovators, your team’s challenge is: Crackers may be easily crushed. Nobody wants to put their cheese or peanut butter on a broken piece of cracker. An Alabama manufacturer of crackers wants to securely package crackers that can go in school lunches and for camping trips. The company owner needs to design a package to protect four crackers. Will You Help? • A successful package has several criteria: • The crackers will not get crushed. • The crackers will stay dry. • The crackers will be protected from bugs. • The crackers will be properly labeled (name of product and what it is). • The packaging will not waste shelf space at the stores where the crackers will be sold.
