  18. What is it? http://prezi.com/

  19. What is it? A non-linear way to present ideas. Creates a “zooming” presentation. http://prezi.com/

  20. Why use it?

  21. Why use it? Visual representations help students recognize how related topics connect (NCTM, 2000)

  22. Why use it? Learners acquire and store knowledge in two primary ways: linguistic (reading or hearing), and non-linguistic (visual imagery, kinesthetic). The more students use both systems of representing knowledge, the better they are able to thinking about and recall what they have learned (Marzano, Pickering & Pollock, 2001)

  23. What can we do with it in the classroom?

  24. What can we do with it in the classroom? Student can build up a Prezi through the course of a topic. Jot down key ideas, vocabulary and events. http://prezi.com/heta0c8btjcb/8d-group-f/

  26. What can we do with it in the classroom? Create a subject-specific dictionary with images, links and/or video.

  27. What can we do with it in the classroom? Create graphic organizers. http://prezi.com/yehexjncx9a0/making-assignments-prezilicious/

  28. What can we do with it in the classroom? As a teaching tool. Example: Use an image from history. Zoom in to a particular spot and have students ask questions about the image. Gradually reveal the rest of the image.

  29. What can it do?
