  2. The resurrection permeates Paul’s Preaching (1 Cor. 15:1-11) • “The gospel I preached to you.” • “By this gospel you are saved.” • Because He arose we know and can be sure of 4 IMPORTANT TRUTHS:

  3. 1. THE BIBLE IS TRUE (15:3-4) • “According to the Scriptures.”

  4. THE BIBLE IS TRUE • A. Paul preached it (1-4). • “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance.” • B. Peter quoted it (Acts 2:27-32). • “Because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.” Ps. 16:8-11

  5. THE BIBLE IS TRUE • C. Paul quotes it. (Acts 13:32-37). • “As it is written in the second Psalm: “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” The fact that God raised him from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words: “I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.” So it is stated elsewhere: “You will not let your Holy One see decay.” • Ps. 2:7; Isaiah 55:3; Ps. 16:10.

  6. THE BIBLE IS TRUE • D. Jesus predicted it (John 2:19-22). • “Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” • “After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.”

  8. 2. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” 1 Cor. 15:17 • A. We too can have eternal life. • “In Christ all will be made alive.” 1 Cor. 15:22 • “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” John 11:25

  9. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • B. Christ intercedes for us. • “He always lives to intercede for them.” Heb. 7:25.

The Holy Spirit has come. • “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name…” John 14:26 • “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth…” John 15:26. • “Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you.” John 16:7

  11. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • D. Spiritual gifts are given. • “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.” Eph. 4:7-8 quoting Ps. 68:18

  12. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • E. New position. • “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. “ Eph. 1:3

  13. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • F. New Authority. • “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples…” Matt. 28:19-20

  14. SALVATION IS COMPLETE • G. New Power. • “That you may know…his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead…” Eph. 1:18-20. • “I want to know him and the power of his resurrection…” Phil. 3:10.

  16. 3. HIS CHURCH IS BEING BUILT • “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God…” “on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Matt. 16:16-18.

JUDGMENT IS CERTAIN • John 5:24-30 • “…the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live…the Father…has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man… all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.”

  19. ROMANS 10:9-10, 13 • “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” • “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
