  2. Current Situation • Hotel Survey, since 1996 – monthly • Domestic Tourism Survey, 1999 – every 3 years • Outbound Tourism Survey, 1999 – every 3 years • Same Day Visitors Survey, 2009. • Tourism Activities Survey, since 2007 - yearly. • Tourism Satellite Account (Primary), 2009

  3. Source of Data • PCBS surveys • Administrative Registers: Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities: No. of visitors to attractive sites, No. of tourists establishments.

  4. No. of Inbound Visitors in Palestine (million) About half of them visit Bethlehem governorate. *Religious purposes by the Christians

  5. Basic Conditions / Obstacles • Does not have a control of the borders and check points. • The security situation has got worse and the freedom to move inside Palestine. • Do not have the issuance of visas for visitors. • Travel and tourism Israeli companies monopolize the tourism sector.
