  3. Characteristics of Nonmetals • * Poor conductors of heat and electricity • * Dull (not shiny) • * Brittle (break or shatter easily)

  4. Characteristics of Metalloids • * Most are good conductors of heat and electricity, but not as good as metals • * Divide the metals from the nonmetals because they have characteristics of both metals and nonmetals
