This case study details a 62-year-old pseudophakic male patient with sudden onset of decreased vision due to high bullous serous retinal detachment (SRD) skirting the fovea, presenting with a visual acuity of 6/24. A 5 mm split silicone sponge encirclage was performed, followed by serial optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans post-operatively. At one week, a significant reduction in subretinal fluid (SRF) was noted, and by the five-month follow-up, minimal SRF persisted with improved visual acuity of 6/6p. The findings emphasize the importance of careful monitoring and management post-surgery.

One week post op. SRF at macula. No peripheral open break. HST well cryoed and opposed on buckle.
