  2. Welcome to ARCC Art Appreciation! • Course Outline (handout- discuss and review) • Calendar (Teacher Website) • Attendance (every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday- we only meet about 41 times!) • Art Experiences: • Art Galleries • Art Museums • Studio Tours • Public Art/ Sculpture Garden

Welcome to ARCC Art Appreciation! • Group Events: (NOTE A COUPLE CHANGES!) • There will be 4 organized events, focusing on a variety of art experiences • Dates are as follows: • Sunday, Sept. 22nd (FOCI- Minnesota Center For Glass Arts) • Saturday, Oct. 12th (Big Stone Mini Golf and Sculpture Garden) • Saturday, Nov. 2nd (Art Attack at the Northrup King Building) • Saturday, Dec. 14th (Museum of Russian Art) • You will need to provide your own transportation • Consider car-pooling with classmates! • Plan on 1 group event per month • Course fees will help pay for events • Plan on a mix of free events and paid events

Welcome to ARCC Art Appreciation! • Individual Events: • On your own or with others in class • Look through my sheet for ideas • Talk to me about ideas you have for this category • Plan on documenting your experience in your journal • We will use the corkboard in the back to post information about possible places to check out for individual events!

  5. Welcome to Hybrid Arts in the Cities! • Visual Journal: • Consider this the bulk of the class • Documentation through journaling, sketching, photography and painting • This will be done both in class and outside of class • Refer to student examples and “Dan Eldon” journal

Welcome to Hybrid Arts in the Cities! • Hybrid Component- How does it work? • Contact information online • Google Calendar- check regularly! • Course syllabus • Links to project descriptions and writing assignments • Plan on spending at least 2 hours a week outside of class on projects or independent events!
