  2. Objectives • Spell and define terms. • List nine objectives to be met in obtaining and maintaining employment. • Follow a process for self-appraisal. • Name sources of employment for nursing assistants.

  3. Objectives • Prepare a résumé and a letter of resignation. • List the steps for a successful interview. • List the requirements that must be met when accepting employment. • List steps for continuing development in your career.

  4. Introduction • Having completed a nursing assistant program • You are now ready to look for employment • You will want to be as successful as an employee as you were as a student.

  6. Objective 1: Self-Appraisal • First objective: • Determine your personal assets and limitations that could influence your choice of employment. • Make your lists, review them, and add to them over several days.

  7. Objective 2: Search for All Employment Opportunities • Having considered your assets and limitations and found as many solutions to your limitations as possible • You are ready to search for employment

  8. Objective 3: Assemble a Proper Résumé • A résuméis a written summary of work and education history • You should include: • Name, address, and telephone number • Educational background • Work history over the last five years • Proof of being on the State Nurse Aide Registry
