What is ICT? • According Longman dictionary INFORMATION : facts or details that tell you something about a situation, person, event, etc; COMMUNICATION : the process by which people exchange information or express their thouht and feelings TECHNOLOGY : new machines, equiment, and ways of doings things that are based on modern knowledge about science and computer So ICT ( information and communication technology) is : machine, equiment or ways of giving or exchange fact or detail about a situation , person, event, etc;
Why we need ICT ? • Imagine your self living in a jungle alone. No TV, telephone, electricity, internet, radio, satellite, friends to talk to just like the stone age period. How do you feel about it?. Human being a social creature, we must live and communication each other. For that reason people invent many thing to ease their social needs. • Nowadays, people hardly live without ICT. Its almost in every sectors of our live. Kitchen, bedroom, affice, school, mosque, church, even open spaces like park of street have available communication media. • Internet, TV, Radio, telephone (mobile and fix line newspaper are unavailable source of our life. • Business and pleasure runs smoothly with ICT
Brief History about ICT • Premechanical The premechanical age is the earliest age of information technology. It can be defined as the time between 3000 BC. When humans first started communicating they would try to use language or simple picture drawings known as petroglyths, which were usually carved in the rock. Early alphabets were developed such as the Phoenician alphabet.
