  7. Product Summary UR MDS WiYZTM Multilin UR FW release v7.10 What is it? • Value Proposition of UR FW version 7.10 • Increases network availability by enabling independent failure mode and reducing failover time to zero through implementation of IEC62439-3 “PRP” • In-zone transformer capability in the L90 enables decreasing the number of required CT banks by 1/3 and dedicated transformer relay for line differential schemes with a power transformer in between • New settings fields for bypassing user authentication may speed up relays commissioning and testing by 10% while keeping NERC/CIP compliance • UR FW version 7.10 release introduces specific new communication and P&C capabilities to The UR Family of devices. • New Communication functionality • New network redundancy method as per the IEC 62439-3 PRP standard. • Updated KEMA certification on the IEC61850 protocol • New P&C Functionalities • In-zone transformer capabilities added to the L90 Line Protection System • CyberSentryTM UR Lvl 1 new settings for password bypass

  8. Product Summary URPlus MDS WiYZTM Multilin URPlus FW release v1.90 What is it? • Value Proposition of URPlus FW version 1.90 • Increases network availability by enabling independent failure mode and reducing failover time to zero through implementation of IEC62439-3 “PRP” • The SSOD (Small Signal Oscillation Detection) range is expanded and refined to ensure a larger area of system oscillations can be detected • URPlus FW version 1.90 release introduces specific new communication and enhanced P&C capabilities to The URPlus platform, excluding the B95Plus. • New Communication functionality • New network redundancy method as per the IEC 62439-3 PRP standard. • Updated KEMA certification on the IEC61850 protocol • Enhanced P&C Functionalities (C90Plus) • Small Signal Oscillation Detection range is expanded to cover a wider range of 0.08 to 1Hz with step increments of 0.02Hz.

  9. Application Examples

  10. Applications 1 – PRP (UR & URPlus) MDS WiYZTM • Bumpless recovery of communications • UR / URPlus • 2 networks • 2 ports • 1 MAC address/IP address • UR receives frames from both networks • Discards 2nd frame • Transparent to switches Increased network availability that reduces failover time to zero through implementation of IEC62439-3 “PRP”

  11. Application Example 1b – Complete Network Redundancy (UR & URPlus) LAN B – Tree mode LAN A – Ring mode UR v6.xx or olderSAN SAN: Single access node DANP: Double access node PRP UR v7.10 or higherDANP • Increased network availability (Independent failure mode) • Chosen redundancy method for S/S automation networks based on 61850 (Ed. 2)

  12. Application Example 1c – Programmable Redundancy (UR) Programmable Redundancy - Eth Ports 2 & 3: Independent, Failover or PRP redundancy - Port 2 shares IP and MAC addresses with Port 3 Eth Port 1 Eth Port 2 Eth Port 3

  13. Applications 2 – L90 With In-zone Transformer (UR) MDS WiYZTM • In-zone Power Transformer Functionality • Compensates remote terminal side phase shift • Suitable for two and three line terminals • Several Inrush Inhibit modes • Reduces the number of required CT banks by 1/3 and dedicated transformer relay for line differential schemes with a power transformer in between

  14. Applications 3 – CyberSentryTM (UR) MDS WiYZTM Standard Security UR CyberSentryTM UR FW 7.0x • Standard • Exceeds NERC CIP Password requirements (6 digits, alpha-numeric and special characters; UR – 20 Digits, Alpha-numeric, special, capital and small case characters) • Access Level for Settings • Access Level for Commands • Dual Access control • Remote Password, Local Password • Security Audit Trial (6.0x) • CyberSentryTM UR Level 1 • Exceeds NERC CIP Password requirements (6 digits, alpha-numeric and special characters; UR – 20 Digits, Alpha-numeric, special, capital and small case characters) • RBAC with Five Roles • Administrator • Supervisor • Engineer • Operator • Observer • Enterprise authentication - Radius • Enhanced Security Audit Trial plus Syslog support • Requires software option

  15. Ethernet Local Password Bypass Front Panel, RS232 & RS485 Applications 3b – Password Bypass (UR) • Relay Commissioning and Testing • Takes hours and requires frequent settings change (at least once per tested element) • Each setting change requires password clearance • Submitting password may be slow depending on the interface (front panel) • Disabling passwords compromises final settings • Bypass requiresAdministrator privileges Remote Password Bypass User Activities Comms Read and write settings files Read record files Write independent settings FW upgrade CybersSentry settings Master/client Comm User Activities FP See and write independent settings See independent records No access to CyberSentry settings • Speeds up relays commissioning and testing by about 10% while keeping NERC/CIP compliance

  16. Applications 4 – Small Signal Oscillation Detection (URPlus) MDS WiYZTM • SSOD Settings Range Expanded in C90Plus • Measure up to 6 analog inputs either local or remote signals at a fixed measurement rate of 100 ms, and monitor for small power system oscillations (Power or Frequency) Alarm and Trip stage • Settings range expanded: 0.08 to 1 Hz with 0.02 Hz frequency step • Increases large power system stability by monitoring 6 inputs and allow system separations upon detected instability

  18. Market Drivers

  19. Market Drivers • IEC 62439-3 Standard on Industrial Network Redundancy • Industrial communication networks – High availability automation networks – Part 3: Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) • First edition of the standard “1.0” is dated Feb-2010. A second edition “2.0” came up in Jul-2012. The Ed. 2 PRP is not backward compatible with Ed. 1 PRP. This was the trade-off to enable multi protocol nodes, which are nodes that can be work on both PRP and HSR networks. • The standard has been highly promoted by ABB and Siemens as they hold patents on it. • PRP has been adopted by a small number of companies so far. However, we see how the rapidly-growing interest on this protocol can make an important market driver in the short term. • North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) • This term has become standard matter for all utility companies in North America as they collaborate with the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). • “The DOE designated NERC as the electricity sector coordinator for critical infrastructure protection. NERC serves as the Information Sharing and Analysis Center for the electricity sector. NERC also works closely with the DHS and Public Safety Canada to ensure the critical infrastructure protection functions are coordinated with the governments of the United States and Canada” • http://www.nerc.com/
