Enhancing Journal Retention: Overview of the j-Retain Program
The j-Retain Program, initiated by Willis and Gherman over 12 years ago, focuses on the long-term retention of low-use print journals with reliable digital access. Participating libraries can choose which titles to retain based on local needs, with verification processes in place. Items are maintained through 2035, with options for gradual exit from the agreement. The program encourages libraries to manage their collections strategically while maintaining borrowing agreements for interlibrary loans.
