  2. Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange is associated with the Fall harvest and black is associated with darkness and death. Science Fact #1: Colors that can be produced by visible light of a narrow band of wavelengths are called pure spectral colors. The various color ranges on the spectrum are continuous, with no clear boundaries between one color and the next

  3. Jack o’ Lanterns originated in Ireland where people placed candles in hollowed-out turnips to keep away spirits and ghosts. Science Fact #2: A pumpkin is a gourd-like squash of the genus Curcurbita and typically have a thick, orange or yellow shell, creased from the stem to the bottom, containing the seeds and pulp.

Science Fact #7: In architecture, a gargoyle is a carved stone grotesque, usually made of granite; In science granite is a intrusive igneous rock (“fire rock”). Granite is usually found in the continental plates of the Earth’s crust.

  9. Blood is associated with the scary aspects of Halloween. Science Fact #8: Blood is the life-maintaining fluid that circulates through the body's: heart, arteries, veins, capillaries. Blood carries away from the body waste matter and carbon dioxide.
