  2. Screening • Screening is a process of identifying apparently healthy people who may be at increased risk of a disease or condition. They can then be offered information, further tests and appropriate treatment to reduce their risk and/or any complications arising from the disease or condition. • The screening timeline demonstrates that screening follows you throughout your life.   4. Objective • The main take home messages today for none cancer screening will be related to only two programmes that you can influence: • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm • Diabetic Retinopathy • All information on any of the screening programmes is here: • http://www.screening.nhs.uk/screening

Diabetic Eye Screening • Previously known as Diabetic Retinopathy Screening! • It is estimated that screening could save more than 400 people per year from sight loss in England. • Patients over the age of 12 are called every 12 months for a free screening test that takes about 30 minutes. • So can you ask all diabetic patients: Have you had your diabetic eye screening recently?
