Rules of COMBAT! • Be safe at all times. • Robots that don’t follow ALL rules will be disqualified from battle for the rest of the day and potentially the rest of the semester. • All shell construction out of plastics and foams. • Maximum dimension of robot cannot exceed 10" (meaning a square robot cannot have a diagonal dimension of greater than 10". Another way to think of it, the robot must fit inside of a sphere with a 5" radius) • Robots must only be activated in the arena or with permission of instructor. • Robots must weigh in equal or less than 1 pound. • Robots weapons could include: lifters, hammers, clamps, spinning weapons. (No sawing or drilling or fire.) • No autonomous robots. They must all be radio controlled. • All efforts must be made to protect battery terminals from a direct short and causing a battery fire.

  34. Draw a Series and Parallel Circuit A series circuit is one in which there is only one pathway for the electric current to follow. The components are arranged one after another in a single pathway. When we connect the components we say that they are connected in series. We have already seen examples of series circuits in the last chapter. Parallelcircuits offer more than one pathway for the electrons to follow. When constructing a parallel circuit, we say that components are connected in parallel. Look at the diagram which shows how two light bulbs are connected in parallel.
