  1. We welcome some new staff who have joined our school: Miss Guys is our new HLTA. Mrs Dasu and Mrs Shah will be working as Special Support Assistants. • Free School Meal Entitlement • Schools now receive lots of extra funding in their budgets for each pupil who is entitled to receive Free School meals (FSM). • We believe that we have a number of families who are eligible for FSM but have not applied. We would assure you that pupils receiving FSM are not identified and all information is strictly confidential. • It could be that your child is eligible for a free school meal if you are entitled to receive one of the following benefits: • Income support • Jobseekers Allowance (Income based) • Income related Employment Support Allowance • Support under Part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999 • The guaranteed element of the State Pensions Credit • Child Tax Credit provided there is no entitlement to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190.00, this also applies to parents who are working less than 16 hours per week. • We would encourage you to apply even if your child does not want to take up the meals; as it could make a significant difference to the school’s budget if you make an application. • For further information, please contact the Free School Meals Benefits office on the following number – 0845 070 10 66 as soon as possible. 01254 54851 Friday 8th November 2013Newsletter Parent Ambassador Thank you to all who attended the Parent Ambassador meeting.
