  2. Presentation • Part 1 – Attainment and use of Insight • Part 2 – Draft Curriculum structure and course choice sheets

  3. Insight definitions: Insight: is a professional tool which helps secondary schools and local authorities identify areas of success and where improvements can be made in terms of S4-6 attainment. Virtual Comparator: For each school leaver, ten matching school leavers are randomly selected based on gender, additional support needs, stage of leaving school (S4, S5 or S6) and the social context in which they live (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation). Tariff score: Subject courses and individual units are awarded tariff points. The number of tariff points awarded depends on: the SCQF level of the course or unit; whether the full course has been undertaken and assessed; and the grade achieved for the course. The average complimentary tariff point is a measure which helps compare pupils in different schools who undertake differing numbers of qualifications in S4-S6 due to the school curriculum model.  The complementary tariff measure provides additional reassurance for schools and parents that the attainment data presented provides a meaningful basis for reflection and self-evaluation.
