  3. Literature Genres Genre means a category, or kind of story. Books or stories can be categorized by: Fiction Non-fiction.

  4. Fiction: Books that are made up by  the author, or are not true,are fiction. Nonfiction: Books that are true,are about real things, people,events, and places.

  5. Earthquake Terror Preparing to Read. Genre: Realistic fiction • Can be based on a real story • Characters act like real people • Character tries to solve a problem • Story could happen in real life • Some events are historically accurate • Character’s feelings and behaviors are like real life
