The Roles of Project Based Learning and Multimedia in the Classroom. • On a weekly basis, I use United Streaming or Brain Pop Jr. to show educational videos that either hook or reinforce a lesson with my students. • I am a huge proponent of collaborative group work. However, a majority of the time, I create the groups heterogeneously based on abilities. • Overall, both multimedia and project based learning is centered around problem solving, communication, active engagement, and inquiry to help each child acquire deeper knowledge of the subject matter. Interactive Multimedia • The multimedia projects that I have used in my classroom are interactive because they allow the kids to react and respond to the projects. • I vary multimedia interactions between the Polyvision Board and individual work at their own computer during “center time.” • Weekly we play a PowerPoint Jeopardy game on the Polyvision Board. The Jeopardy game revolves around the weekly Language Arts skills. This game is the last review prior to the students taking their weekly test in Language Arts. Home

Self -Assessment-Analysis • After taking this self assessment, I came to the realization that I lack the most knowledge in the areas of animation and project design, planning, and management. • However, this assessment also showed that I am most knowledgeable Visuals, Google Docs, and Wikispaces. • In conclusion, the skills that I want to gain more knowledge of are Polyvision Board activities (creation and usage) and Kindle Fire activities. By gaining knowledge in these two areas, I feel it will increase and enhance learning within my classroom. Home
