KREONET Overview • Korea’s national science & research network • Funded by MOST since 1988 • Up to 20Gbps backbone, 1-10Gbps access networks • About 200 connected organizations/ 100,000 users • GLORIAD as international connections • Two OC192 links : KR to US (Seattle), KR to CN (Hong Kong) • Hybrid use w/ OC192 and multiple GEs • KREONet2 • Hybrid networking facility • Dark-fiber (SuperSIReN) and SONET/SDH ring • Multiple GEs and 10GEs • IP + deterministic path (lightpath) • IPv4/IPv6 routed network and lightpath provisioning • IPv4 Mbone /IPv6 Gigabit Network
