Getting Started: Registration • All first semester students have registration holds. • Hold removed when • Program Check Sheet completed and signed • Immigration reminders • F-1 and J-1 graduate students must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hrs for Fall and Spring semesters; • F-1 students must enroll in at least 6 credits of on-campus courses (i.e., not on-line) • Meet with an immigration advisor at International Services (IS) on main campus if they have questions.www.global.usf.edu • Academic accommodations for a disability may be arranged by contacting the office of Services for Students with Disabilities to arrange appropriate accommodations: www.sds.usf.edu

Getting Started: Transfers/Substitutions • See COPH Academic and Student Affairs staff for assistance. • Non-Degree Seeking Students • Only 12 credits taken as a non-degree student at the University of South Florida (USF) can be transferred into a program with grades of "B" or higher. • No transcript will be required for USF courses. • Degree Seeking Students • Only 12 credits with grades of "B" or higher taken at another university can be transferred into your program per department/advisor approval. • An official transcript will be required unless on file in your COPH permanent record in the Academic and Student Affairs Office.

Getting Certified: CPH • We expect that your exposure to and acquisition of the competencies (ASPH and USF COPH) will help prepare you for the voluntary national certification exam in public health. As of 2010, the exam can be taken by: • 1) students who have yet to graduate but have taken 21 credits including all of the core courses and • 2) those who have graduated from the College. It is never too early to begin studying for this exam! • www.publichealthexam.org
