30. LAN Assessment LAN / WAN Requirements
A public IP address(es) from the broadband service provider is required.
A static or dynamically assigned PUBLIC IP is required for the QoS device
If there is an existing firewall already using a public IP then TWO static public IPs will be required. One for the QoS and another for the firewall.
The integration of NGTs QoS Device. This device would be provisioned with the public IP address required above.

36. Pre-Install Checklist The QAD QoS device may not include cabling
The QAD must have its own static public IP address unique from your modems public IP; please contact your ISP to order an extra public IP if one is not available before the install date
Please thoroughly review the LAN Architecture Cookbook. Your network should mirror one of the four Network Diagrams. Please contact NGT at (800) 299-2550 or installsupport@ngt.com if you have any questions regarding the Cookbook.
37. Pre-Install Checklist Configure the QAD/ QoS with WAN Interface settings.
From the Firewall tab of the QAD, please disable the firewall in order to allow remote access for the NGT Install Engineering group during the install date.
Connect the modem to the WAN port on the QAD
Connect the existing layer two switch into LAN port 1 of the QAD
38. Pre-Install Checklist If you have a firewall or Small Business Server (SBS) connect the WAN to the LAN port 2 of the QAD.
Go to speedtest.net and run three speed tests. Please have the downstream and upstream results ready for the install date
12. Please verify that the WAN IP of the QAD can be reached via ping and via HTTP from outside of the LAN prior to install. If the QAD cannot be reached then verify the WAN IP settings of the QAD, otherwise, there may be an issue with the modem configuration which may require assistance from your ISP.

40. Device Manager Phone Configuration For Cisco phones, the profile rule is populated via the phone's GUI with: http://xsplaunch.onvoip.net/dms/SPA5xxG/spa-$MA.cfg (5xx would change depending on phone model) which points the phone to our XSP server. The phones pull their config, reboot, and then are registered.
