Innovative 3D Rehabilitation System for Upper Limbs: Development and Clinical Testing Insights

This paper presents the 3D Rehabilitation System for upper limbs, developed over a five-year NEDO project. Led by researchers from Osaka University and other institutions, the study emphasizes the mechanical safety of patients using an electro-rheological (ER) actuator. The system includes specialized rehabilitation software designed for motion exercise training. We share results from clinical testing that demonstrate the efficacy of the 3D exercise machine (EMUL) in improving patient outcomes. The findings provide valuable insights into advanced rehabilitation technologies.
