WP5 – POLICY AND BEHAVIOURGENERAL GOALS Identify and design scenarios and models of change to policy (legislation, regulation, taxation, fuel duties and other legislative tools), behaviour and transnational strategies) and disseminate their impact Develop scenarios and model potential changes to driving techniques and behaviours Develop policy proposals

WP5 – POLICY AND BEHAVIOURMETHODOLOGY Policy “Plans, positions and guidelines which influence decisions by different levels of government” Outline of process for policy development and proposal in BATTERIE Develop questionnaire to be answered by all Regions/Countries represented in BATTERIE (characterise legislation; regulation; taxation; incentives; etc.); Research state-of-the-art in terms of legislation, regulation, taxes, incentives and programmes related to the technical from previous WPs and identify good practices; Synthesis of technical proposals from partners in other WPs; Evaluate options (policy proposals) against a set of criteria; Discuss preliminary proposals with stakeholders and evaluate political context; Define Specific Policies: New policies; integration with existing policies; timetable for implemantation; estimated cost; expected impact on people, economy, environment, etc.; Final Policy Proposals; BATTERIE Partners adapt proposals into regional/national policy proposals. Outputs (forms of policy) Proposals for legislation; Proposals for regulation; Programme Proposals; Proposals for changing behaviours; Proposals on Taxes/Incentives (financial and other).

WP5 – POLICY AND BEHAVIOUR METHODOLOGY - BEHAVIOUR Behaviour Change behaviour by bridging the gap between public perception and changing reality Inputs: Characterise present behaviour of individuals Identify best practices (in terms of environment, energy, congestion, move towards public transport, etc.) in terms of public behaviour Outputs: Information to different stakeholders on alernatives (e.g. compreensive info on public transport as an alternative to private transport) Real case demonstration of viable solutions (e.g. multimodal low carbon mobility through BATTERIE partner countries) Adequate publicising of all initiatives
