  6. Why don’t Americans vote? • Laziness • Forgot to register • Inconvenient • No ideal candidate

Why does America need compulsory voting? • 40.1% of all Americans voted in the 2008 election. • Turnout lowered in every state • America ranks 139th out of 172 countries in voter turnout. • 186 million eligible voters • 130 million registered voters • 126 million voters voted in the 2012 election
