MTA Overview • suite of certification products • helps schools teach and validate core IT infrastructure, software development, and database administration knowledge • provides students with IT career exploration opportunities, while allowing them to demonstrate aptitude for more advanced certifications, internships, apprenticeships, and some entry-level jobs

  5. MTA Candidate Profile • MTA candidates are able to understand and explain fundamental concepts of the topic on which they are being tested. Hands-on hardware or technology experience is recommended, but not always required. • Only one exam needed to earn an MTA certification and gain access to Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) resources and benefits.

Which areas of focus in HIT does the program align to? • How is the program aligned to industry needs? Was it validated by and/or designed in collaboration with industry? • Clear entry requirements and target jobs including knowledge, skills and/or prior work experience students should have prior to entering the program • Clear career pathways and PLA entry points and processes
