Enhancing Animal Welfare in Lowndes County: A Community Outreach Initiative

DESCRIPTION

Did you know that over 6,000 dogs and cats are sent to the Lowndes County Animal Shelter each year? Unfortunately, only 15% are adopted or claimed by their owners, leading to the tragic euthanization of over 5,000 homeless pets last year. Our project aims to build lifelong bonds between people and animals through education, outreach programs, and cruelty prevention. Join us in providing professional services to our community while protecting it from stray animals. Volunteer experiences include walking and exercising dogs, making the shelter a fun environment for pets!

  3. Did You Know? • The community sends over 6,000 dogs and cats to the Lowndes county animal shelter each year. • And only 15 % of those animals are adopted or claimed by their owners. • In Lowndes County last year more than 5,000 homeless dogs and cats were euthanized.

To Adopt a Pet • To adopt a new pet or claim a lost pet, please come: • Tuesday through Friday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. • Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. • Closed Sundays and Mondays • To drop off an animal please come: • 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, 7 days a week The Website *contains a list of available pets

  14. In Conclusion… • I had a lot of fun despite the smell in the shelter. • Once again, I got trampled, it had to be fun.
