  3. The truth is, the behavior that we glorify so much as college students…

  4. can also have serious consequences.

  5. Drinking severely inhibits alertness and perception.

  6. Alcohol can also have serious and lasting biological consequences.

  7. There is a strong correlation between alcohol use and academic performance in college.

  8. Still, despite the risks, the percentage of college students who binge drink and use alcohol is alarmingly high.

  9. Continuous efforts are being made by law enforcement and universities to minimize the damaging effects of this problem.
