  2. Book Survey We’re going to start today by doing a quick survey of the book. Quickly skim through chapters 1-12, 14-27, and 30-31. For each chapter, do the following: - Write down 1 thing you’ve learned while skimming. - Write down 1 thing you saw but you’d like to learn more about.

  3. Physics Showcase Demos • Demos will be done up front. For each demo, do the following: • Write the name of the demo • Write 5 observations for what you’re seeing and hearing. Any observations. Use all your senses. • Try to come up with a hypothesis for what you think is happening. Why did you see what you saw? • Tell me 1 way that knowing how this demo works could be useful • Demo 1: The Tablecloth Trick Demo 2: Invincible Phone Books • Demo 3: Fireproof Paper Demo 4: The Tesla Coil • Analysis Questions for After the Demos: • 1) From the demos you’ve seen, what kind of things does physics cover? What makes physics different from other sciences? • 2) How is any of this stuff useful? Pick one of the demos and explain in a paragraph how it might be useful to your life after high school. •  Pick one of the demos and try to understand it deeper. Pick one thing to change about the setup and tell me how this might change the outcome. Try to come up with a rule or equation to explain this phenomenon.

  4. Exit Question #1 Fill in “C” for number 1 on your exit ticket and turn it in.
