Ecosystems • 30% of species will be at high risk of extinction with 1.5 to 2.5 degrees centigrade increase in temperature • 40% of world’s economy and 80% of needs of the poor are derived from biological resources. • Humanity is using resources and emitting waste (particularly carbon dioxide from fossil fuel burning) at a rate 52 percent faster than the Earth can sustain • More than 83 percent of humanity living in countries where demand nature exceeds what the country’s ecosystems can renew
