  1. UKIERI / Polymer IRC Workshop onPOLYMER SURFACES • This two-day workshop is aimed at research and development scientists in industry and academia interested in polymer surfaces, interpreted broadly to include barrier coatings, functional surfaces, coatings for filtration, biocompatible surfaces, biosensors, plastic electronics and any other applications involving polymer surfaces or ultrathin polymer films. • The workshop has a number of elements that can be attended individually or in combination. • Intensive half-day training course providing an Introduction to Polymer Surfaces (see programme on following page) • Guest lectures • Industrial problem solving session (IRC Industrial Club) • Research presentations by delegates • The workshop is jointly organised by the UK-India Education and Research Initiative and the Polymer IRC, and we are hoping to have a delegation of Indian companies joining the workshop. • Please register by returning the form below to Irene Harries (m.i.harries@dur.ac.uk). Registration is free of charge. • Bursaries to cover cost of accommodation are available for PhD students and post-docs making presentations. Holgate Conference Centre, Grey College, Durham 17–18 December 2007 Sponsored by the UK-India Education & Research Initiative, Polymer IRC and CENAMPS Organisers: Colin Bain e-mail: c.d.bain@dur.ac.uk tel: (0191) 3342138 Neil Cameron e-mail: n.r.cameron@dur.ac.uk tel: (0191) 3342008
