  21. The Sentence • The sentence is the basic unit of all writing • A sentence is a group of words that: • Expresses a complete thought • Contains a subject • Contains a verb

  22. Subjects • For a sentence to be complete, it must contain a WHO or WHAT - a SUBJECT • The subject tells you WHO or WHAT does something or exists in a certain way • The dog chased the car.
