Unit Plan Summary • One of the main problems of Cagayan de Oro City is flooding, and to cater this problem in connection with water cycle, students will be expose to the different causes and effect of flooding. They will be able to recognize the different processes of water cycle, through doing discussion

  3. and research that will enhance their knowledge and have the ability to find their own way on how to prevent such problem. With the use of art they will develop their creativity through making sign boards that advocates the importance of taking good care of our nature.

  4. Essential Question • Are the people of Cagayan de Oro ready for a change?

  5. Unit Question • How can we help the community in solving the problems in water pollution?

  6. Content Questions • What is the importance of learning water cycle?

  7. Benefits of Using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment, and CFQs in My Unit • Students will understand the basic concepts in water cycle and it’s importance. • Students will Create different creative outputs that address the need of Cagayan de Oro in terms of flooding (e.g., Slogan, sign boards)

  8. Benefits of Using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment, and CFQs in My Unit • Reflect on the changes that are happening in the respected area, and how it can greatly affect the community.

  9. By Using Project Approaches, Ongoing Assessment, and CFQs My Students Will: • Research (through books and internet) on how water cycle occurs and give explanation. • Identify the different processes involved in the water cycle (e.g., evaporation, Condensation, precipitation )

  10. Describe changes that happen to water during each processes. • Relate temperature to the process of water cycle. • Create an output related to the topic. • Write a reflection paper about the learning from the area exposure.

  11. Gauging Student Needs Assessment • I will use my Essential and Unit Questions to: • See the different effects of harming the nature. • Discover the different things that they can do to prevent flooding in Cagayan de Oro City

  12. Determine the ability of the students to communicate in any sector of this province. • To enhance the capability of the student to make any actions in this kind of situation.

  13. Gather information on higher-order thinking and 21st century skills: • Through doing thorough research on the topic given. • By engaging their selves in any community services. • By doing the task the students will give or provide any possible solutions to prevent harm effects for the community.

  14. Gauging Student Needs Assessment • What I will learn from the assessment: • The basic solutions about many problems in our environment in terms of water pollution. • The development of my students critical thinking skills.

  15. What my students will gain from the assessment • They will learn the basic concepts on water cycle and its importance. • An opportunity to help people in finding solutions about the problems in water.

  16. The opportunity to develop there critical thinking skills • It will serve as an eye opener for young minds, on how they can help mother nature.

  17. My Goals • Learn different strategies in making the lesson more engaging with the use of technology. • Learn different ways on how to utilize (ESD) in making project based learning.

  18. Find ways in collaborating with LGU for the implementation of the project based learning.
