COURSE SELECTION TIMELINE 2013-2014 Program of Studies is available now on rtsd.org Students will be in-serviced on January 30th on how to access and request his/her electives for next year Teachers will input course recommendations for major courses from February 4th through February 15th Students should review POS now and upload elective choices February 18th through February 22nd Electives are grade restricted – current freshman can only select electives available to sophomores Counselors will be reviewing course selections with students in classrooms during the month of February and final selections will be available on HAC in the spring

Notes about Course Changes • Course changes must be processed by your Guidance Counselor • All changes to course requests must be submitted to your Guidance Counselor by June 28, 2013 as there is no drop/add period beyond that deadline. No change requests will be honored beyond this deadline • Core course changes require that an override form be completed (Core=English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and World Language) • Elective changes do not require an override form

What your child should be doing now • Review 2013-2014 Program of Studies and think about classes for next year • Consult with teachers regarding course recommendations for next year • Review the guidance website and seek out your Guidance Counselor with any questions • Prepare for mid-term exams (January 22nd through January 25th)
