  2. A Healthy Pastor’s Family Lesson Two

  3. Key Truth: Healthy pastors put their marriages and children before their ministry. 1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

  4. Pastors Must Prioritize FAMILY over Ministry • A pastor’s family should have priority with his or her: • Time • Attention • Prayers • Authority • Love • Provision

  5. Keys to Healthy Families 1. Jesus is the GLUE of the family. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

  6. 2. LOVE is expressed every day When Jesus was baptized, a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17

  7. 3. The family EATS and TALKS together regularly Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt… Colossians 4:6

  8. 4. Time for family ACTIVITIES is a priority Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4

  9. 5. Each person is treated with RESPECT and KINDNESS Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

  10. 6. The family learns to cope with ADVERSITY Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:3

  11. 7. Children are DISCIPLINED with love and consistency Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4
